Minutes of Meeting April 10, 2007
Meeting was called to order by President Kim Enger
PtHAWW Board of Directors Present: President Kim Enger, Vice President Jodie Trueblood, Secretary
Debbie Rhodes, Treasurer Judi Shideler, Director Julie Sampson, Director Dale Smith, Director Mike
Daugherty, Director Gretchen King.
PtHAWW Members Present: Heidi Hotson, Katie Mayer, Nicole Hughes, Judy Daugherty, Nannette Brooks,
Margaret Brooks, Kory Thorp, Autumn Dryden, Mallory Dobbs, Debbie Hoines, Danielle Smith, Ethel
Lindgren, Vicki Lindgren.
Approval of Agenda: Motion made to accept agenda. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed.
Approval of Previous Minutes: Motion made to accept previous minutes as published in newsletter.

Treasurer Report: Judi Shideler presented the current PtHAWW balance in accounts. She also reported our
taxes are done and we saved money by using the Quick Books program. Motion made to accept Treasurer’s
Report as presented. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed.
Communications: Jodie Trueblood reported there was a new horse club in Ridgefield. It was thought to be a
Pinto club but was later found to be a Paint club.
Sector Director Report: Margaret Brooks has returned from convention. The rule changes to take effect in
2008 are posted on the web. At the 2008 World Show they are planning to disperse the SA/PL classes
through out the entire show. The new rule book is now out. If there are any changes to be made to our
show premium, they must be made prior to the show and sent into Pinto.
Constitution/By Law Committee: Kim Enger will be sending out a draft to the board of directors soon. She
has been experiencing computer problems.
Royalty Update: Southern Idaho has royalty now and will be coming to our show. Heidi has completed her
photo project. She highly recommends Costco for developing. Curtains are done. Royalty will be working
the out gate and handing out ribbons on Saturday. Nicole Hughes is being sponsored by Kitsap Saddle
Club. The Kitsap Sun did an article on Nicole Hughes. The interview took three hours. Nicole also reported
she will helping in the royalty coronation of her local saddle club which is exciting for her because she was
once on their royal court. In the Brush Prairie newspaper, Erica and Lindsey Morris and Brynn Larson were
featured. Also Wendy Davidson will be sending a write up on Jessica Davidson to their local newspaper.
Nicole Hughes asked for help to advertise in the Pinto Magazine. Margaret Brooks will give her some helpful
phone numbers.
Old Business:
A) September Futurity – We wanted to run the futurity classes within the halter classes but Pinto says
no. There are no longer any points for futurities. Pinto said the futurity has to run as a separate show which
means entries would have to pay the judges fee again. It would cost an exhibitor $150 to enter a futurity
class with all the new fees. Motion made to cancel futurities do to new Pinto fees for 2007 show year.
Seconded. Discussion. Vote. 6 – NO, 9 – YES, 1 ABSTAIN. Motion passed.
B) April Show – Stalls are full. We lost 12 stalls do to Tacoma Unit boarders. For $250 we get five port-
a-potties for the April Show. For July we can get 7 port-a-potties for the same price.
New Business:
A) Newsletter – Debbie Rhodes whom has done the newsletter for three years now, made a suggestion
in order to give back to our club by saving money to email the newsletter to our members and post the
newsletter on both Jodie’s and Margaret’s websites rather than sending them out hard copy. This would
save up to $2000 a year. Debbie stated she can provide a small number of hard copies for individuals who
have no access to internet. Motion made to email the newsletter and post on the websites as of July 2007.

B) PtHAWW Meetings – Kim reported that Dirty Daves is keeping track of the members that order food to
make sure it is worth their time to book the club for meetings. Kim stated Dirty Daves is doing this with all
clubs who hold meetings there. The room used is called a banquet room. A suggestion was made to cancel
some PtHAWW meetings for next year. Margaret stated that only four are required a year, we currently have
eleven. We will let our next year’s board make the decision on how many meetings to hold and where to hold
them.
