LETTERS FROM THE 2007 PTHAWW QUEEN AND PRINCESS
I want to take a moment to thank everyone for giving me such a wonderful opportunity that I would not
otherwise had.
When I got down to Tulsa, OK, I didn’t know what to expect. We had, on our shortest days, 18 hours of
passing out ribbons and being “on” for all the 21 secret judges watching us. I could not have made it while I
was down there had it not been for all the help from Kay Martin and everyone from her barn. As well as
Stacie Shaber and Ashlie Centa who helped with all the little things that could escape your mind.
I won the special award in royalty and also won a half dozen close friends with whom I happened to be
competing against. One of which even towed my horse down to Tulsa last minute. Thank you to the Sullivan
family for getting me there!
But I could have never got to that point of competing without the help of our Association. I also want to thank
Judy Daugherty, for keeping me looking sharp in her MJD Original outfits, and to Nannette and Margaret
Brooks for keeping me from going crazy.
Royalty is such an important asset to not only out association, but to everyone they get to meet. They gain
poise, confidence, and responsibility. All important assets to every growing girl. Gook luck and have fun.
Sincerely,
Nicole Hughes
2007 PtHAWW Queen
*********************************************************************************
Hi Everyone,
This year has been quite amazing! From the beginning we had a new experience with a long awaited queen
and the hopes of her going to worlds. Not only did our club come to support the royalty, but as well as we all
supported each other. With the growth of our court there also became a growth in interest and I was
absolutely amazed when I saw how many girls were running just for princess for 2008 at this year’s Big Six
show! And all of them were awesome and I sympathize with the judge for having to choose out of all of them!
Also I was really excited to see the support from those in our club. Of course our queen advisors Gretchen
Lindgren-King and Heidi Hotson are always great at checking with us and making sure we are on cue as well
as Margaret Brooks has supported us since I have known her. There are many people getting more involved
and it is wonderful because hopefully this coming year will be even better and the PtHAWW court will
continue to keep growing.
Sincerely
Laura Henning
