Minutes of Meeting June 12, 2007 Meeting was called to order by President Kim Enger PtHAWW Board of Directors Present: President Kim Enger, Vice President Jodie Trueblood, Secretary Debbie Rhodes, Treasurer Judi Shideler, Director Julie Sampson, Director Dale Smith - Absent: Gretchen King and Mike Daugherty PtHAWW Members Present: Margaret Brooks, Nannette Brooks, Autumn Dryden, Kori Thorp, Mary Britton, Heidi Hotson, Heather Johnson, Judy Schneider Approval of Agenda: Motion made to accept agenda with the addition of Club High Point to New Business. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed. Approval of Previous Minutes: Motion made to accept previous minutes as published in newsletter. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed. Treasurer Report: Judi Shideler presented the current PtHAWW balance in accounts. An NSF check from the April show was covered. Judi also reported they collected 3 RV/4 early stalls for the April show. Judi gave the revised 2007 April Lets Go Pinto Show statement. Motion made to accept Treasurer’s Report as presented. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed. Communications: 1 Judge Carol Dunbar sent a note to Kim Enger statement she really enjoyed our shows and would be happy to work with us again. Sector Director Report: Margaret Brooks reported she is sponsoring a year end high point award for yearlings who participate in Train-In-Hand at the July and September Shows. Margaret has a separate award for the two year olds. The following are the rules for this sponsorship: 2007 - Sector 1, PtHA YEARLING TRAIL IN HAND HIGH POINT BUCKLE. Sponsored by Margaret Brooks This award is open to all Yearlings horses who participate in the 2 & Under Trail In Hand - All Types .Classes at the PtHAWW BIG 6 and POORBOY SHOWS. RULES: 1. Must be registered with PtHA 2. This Award is open to ALL Yearling Horse entries at the PtHAWW Big Six and Poor Boy shows. 3. Must enter class 301 - Trail in Hand 2 & Under Horse - all types 4. Membership in PtHAWW is not a requirement for eligibility. 5. This is not a PtHA ROM Approved Class. BUT does count for PtHAWW Year End Awards for members 6. Pony and Miniature Horses are NOT eligible for this Award 7. Points to be added together from both shows for the total overall High Point 8. Exhibiting in both shows is not a requirement. 9. Buckle will be awarded after the Trail in Hand class at the September Poor Boy Show. Constitution/By Law Committee: Board of Directors will meet June 23rd at 6pm at Judi Shideler’s home to discuss the constitution/by law draft completed by Dale Smith. Royalty Update: Heidi Hotson reported that Mallory Dobbs and Jessica Davidson wore their crowns and sashes and handed out ribbons at the May Cascade Pinto show. Heidi reported that she knows that royalty members Nicole Hughes, Mallory Dobbs, Brynn Larson, Erica and Lindsey Morris and Jessica Davidson are at the Pinto World Show. Heidi is not aware if Laura Henning was able to attend. Old Business A) July 2007 Big Six Show – Kim reported the premium is out. Kory Thorp and Autumn Dryden will be doing the in-gate. Jodie Trueblood inquired about the Leadline class. Kim Enger reported it is a misprint in the premium. Leadline will be the first class following the lunch break on Saturday, before Western Showmanship. This will be posted at the office. A clarification was asked about the RV rule. Kim clarified that the owner of the RV is responsible for paying for the hook-up and if they don’t, they will be reported to Pinto. Margaret reported she has received 7 notices for championship rides. New Business: A) Club High Points – Nannette reported she was finished with the April show points and working on May. She had two questions to ask. 1) Mini and Mini B are not typed – where do they fit in for Showmanship high points. Motion made to establish a division for Youth Mini/Mini B Showmanship and Amateur Mini/Mini B Showmanship for purpose of club year end awards. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed. 2) Nannette asked about PtHAWW members who are showing animals but not all registered owners, according to the master list provided at the show, are PtHAWW members. Discussion held about current rules. The rule currently is as follows: All owners or lessees and participants must become members of PtHAWW, before the start of the show in which you wish your points to count. (Please see newsletter for entire list of PtHAWW Year End Point Ground Rules) Motion made to enforce the current membership rule. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. 1-Abstain; the rest YES. Motion Passed. B) Scholarships – Carol Keller has the scholarship applications. The winners will be announced at the July Show.
