OLD BUSINESS:
Pinto Northwest Region Charter Association
•    Gwen Carr (The Horseman’s Marketplace publication) has been
approached to take on the charter association as a feature in her magazine.
It is thought that this would be a mutually beneficial relationship in that
the magazine’s readership base would be increased and PtNRCA would join an
established advertising media to market to advertisers.   Example:  Les
Schwab will get advertising through this magazine, i.e., advertising for our
sponsors.  Dale Smith is working on this.
•    OUR OVERALL GOAL~
o    To have a show that encompasses all of the West Coast people;
Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alberta and British Columbia, and to develop
financial support to Pinto within the region for the individual clubs and
the regional show.
ROYALTY
•    In the 50/50 from the banquet we made $141.00
•    The silent auction made $100.00
•    Everything is a go for Convention.
•    It was proposed by Gretchen that the club put the portion of the
money that would normally go to the Royalty fund, directly to Laura for
Tulsa (banquet $$).
•    Laura is also trying to get sponsors (higher interest) like Renton
Western Wear.
•    Laura is doing a Breast Cancer Awareness walk and a Wear Pink Day.
•    Laura is trying to get connected with a riding helpers program for
students with special needs.

AWARDS
•    We have bridle bags still, and a few garment bags, lots of buckets,
brushes, towels, and bridle hangers.
•    We have enough for placing 4-6 for April and July.  The club will
need to order a few things to finish off the year.
•    A budget proposal for show awards was brought before the membership
by Dale Smith.  $120.00 to be spent on 1st place, $80.00 to be spent on 2nd
place, $40.00 to be spent on 3rd place and 4-6 place to each get $15.00.
This would make a budget proposal of $3000.00 per show for awards for a
total of $9000 for 2009.  This proposal became a motion brought forth by
Dale Smith; it was seconded by Debbie Hoines.  The motion passed and Dale
and Vanessa were given the go ahead to begin ordering for the awards that
will be needed.
o    We currently need 1st and 2nd place awards, and we will need some
3rd place awards.
•    A vendor has contacted Kim Enger about having embroidery at the
shows.  This person would like to set up a booth at our shows.

SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEE
•    The members of this committee are Dale Smith, Dale Henning, Nick
Cockrell and Kory Thorp.
•    We have sponsorships from Mike and Cindy Lou- all club members can
get 20% off of anything, but saddles.  They also offer online services
through the shop   https://www.mikeswesternsuppliers.com/
•    So far nothing has been found that would actually provide horseshow
awards- we are still looking.

SHOW COMMITTEE
•    Members of this committee are Tammie Whitt, Kory Thorp, Coco Witty,
Courtney Brown and Kim Enger serves to keep us on track.
•    The committee met and discussed possible changes to bring before the
membership regarding the 2010 show season.  Some of the changes discussed
were:  class fee structure~ for example, Walk/Trot kids get high points and
awards, but they pay less money for the classes.  We could gradually
increase the class fee, it would still be less than the other classes, but
would raise to reflect the need for awards.  This is also the case for
gamers.
•    Some of the members present felt that these classes should remain
the same price, as they are the building blocks to people who become our
youth and amateur competitors.  It is also affordable for parents who also
want to show.
•    Members can email their wishes or concerns to Kory Thorp at
wahorsiegirl@aol.com she will share these issues with the rest of the
members.

BANQUET
•    The numbers were down for this year.  We only had about 80 people.
That is a significant decrease from years past.
•    2008-80 people, 2007-120 people and 2006-160 people.
•    What do we want to do next year?  There is a need for the group to
come together and brainstorm.  How do we get the word out?  E-vite was
suggested, we need a way to get a head count.
•    Information was provided that School Districts will let nonprofit
organizations use the facilities free of charge.
•    A question about using a Grange Hall was also asked.  We had used
them in years past, but we out grew the Grange Halls.  We have shrunk again,
so that is a possibility for the future.

WEBSITE
•    We need email addresses on the website.
•    Links to sponsorships could also be provided on the website.
•    What should we call the Poor Boy, now that it is a Jubilee show?
The name Poor Boy Jubilee was decided on as it is the easiest way to go.

NEW BUSINESS:

OFFICE HELP
•    The club will not be paying for an office assistant this year, so we
have asked the Royalty to help out with the copies that need to be made.
They can copy after the show each night, or a family member can do it in
their stead.
•    The Royalty will continue to help with the Grand and Reserve Ribbons
on Halter day as well.

CORRECTION TO THE PREMIUM
•    For the April show, one of the judges did not return the contract,
despite several attempts by Kim to reach her.  Kim contacted PINTO, and was
told it was okay to replace the judge.
•    B.J. Lemaster was originally going to judge in July, she has now
moved up to judge in April, replacing the other judge.
•    A new judge Sherry Haines has been hired to take B.J. Lemaster’s
place for the July show.

MEETINGS
•    We will not have a meeting in April.  The 2nd Tuesday falls on the
same week as the April Show.
•    We can instead meet at the show as a whole group.
•    Wouldn’t it be fun to have a group photo to put on the website?????

•    Our next meeting will be May 12th at Kricketts in Spanaway

YEAR END HIGHPOINT
•    We need to make sure that Ammy and youth reinsmanship are included.
These classes count as their equitation.
•    Members need to look after their own points and be responsible for
themselves.  You should know what you have.
•    Should we have a deadline date to when the points for year end must
be posted, how long people have to dispute the points and when they are
final with no other changes aloud to be made.  The membership voted YES! For
this, although we do not yet have a date.
