Minutes of Meeting May 9, 2006
Meeting was called to order by President Kim Enger.
PtHAWW Board of Directors Present: President Kim Enger, Vice President

Nannette Brooks, Margaret Brooks, Bill Keller, Carol Keller, Judy Daugherty,

Katie Mayer, Jane Mayer, Ashley Enger, Jennifer Freudenstein. Guest: Matt
King.
Approval of Agenda: Motion made to accept agenda with the addition of
futurities added under new business. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion
Passed.
Approval of Previous Minutes: Motion made to accept previous minutes as
printed in the newsletter with one correction. Carol Keller’s email is
pinto4ck@comcast.net. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed..
Treasurer Report: Judi Shideler presented the balance of the current PtHAWW
accounts. She also handed out an Income Statement for the Lets Go Pinto
Show for April 2006. Judi asked if the club should do a second CD and close
the Money Market Account. Motion made to transfer $20,000 from the money
market account into a second CD and put the remaining $8,182.75 from the
money market account into the regular checking account. Seconded.
Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed. Motion made to approve the Treasurer’s
report as presented. Seconded. Discussion. Vote. Motion Passed.
Communications:
PtHA is having a raffle. Proceeds go toward the Pinto Heritage Building Fund.
Tickets are $10 each. Some of the prizes are a briefcase, PtHA hat and a life
time PtHA membership. Contact Kim Enger for tickets.
June 18 there will be a Welcome Party at the World Show. They are looking
for volunteers to help.
People were having trouble walking around the PtHA website. Margaret
Brooks explained the process.
Ashlie Centa needs a new year end award trophy. Her name was misspelled.
Julie Sampson will take care of this. Ashlie also recommended the club go
back to giving blankets or jackets or other items you can use.
Sector Director Report:
Margaret Brooks reported that Jubilee Shows will replace Area
Championships in 2007. Fees will be the same as a regular show. Margaret
says our club should look at doing a Jubilee Show in place of our Poorboy
Show. Jubilee Show points will qualify for the national points needed for
Legions and Supremes. Anything that says Heritage is tax deductible. Take
the time to go to the website and read the PtHA minutes. No first places are
needed for ROM’s starting January 2007. Points are not retro active.

Constitution/By Law Committee: Dale Smith reported that he is working on a
draft.
Royalty Update: Gretchen reported the royalty was accepted to Daffodil
Parade, but it was too late. They looked into the Sea Fair Parade but it cost
additional money so they ruled it out. The royalty made $238 from the raffle at
the Lets Go Pinto Show. Scott Morris won the jacket. Cindy Schrader won the
hat. Brynn Larson was at the Albany Show and had her PtHAWW Royalty
posted. If the royalty are in any parades this year, they will need volunteers
to hold the banner and poop scoop. Laura reported her and Brynn have
looked into having experienced horse holders from the military for the
parades. Dale Smith reported he has tickets for the NFRA in Las Vegas to
raffle again. Royalty will start selling raffle tickets at the Cascade Silver
Buckle Show. Debbie has raffle tickets she will bring to the show to give to
royalty.
Scholarship: Heather Johnson not present. No scholarships have been
received yet. Deadline is June 1st.
Old Business:
Reminder to get information to Carol by July 1st for championship plaques.
July Championship, Legion, Supreme Recognition – Any exhibitor who wishes
to receive a Championship plaque needs to contact Carol Keller. She will
order plaques from tags – the deadline is July 1st, 2006. Carol Keller’s phone
is 360-456-8269, email is pinto4ck@comcast.net. Any one receiving a Legion
or Supreme must give Carol your plaque, already received from
Championship Award, to ad tags to. Heidi gave Carol information for Angela
Bernath who would like a championship plaque.
April Show – There were 1100 Goes and 232 Horses. Several comments made
about show:
Lost entries due to Easter and very bad weather
Some mistakes in office, long office lines, and gate sheets need to get out
faster so classes are not combined or cancelled by accident – July will be
better because new staff is now experienced.
Tacoma Unit had the largest increase in the cost.
Linda Enfield took care of Judges Evaluations – Heidi noted to Kim and Show
Committee some of the bad judging that happened (classes miscalled,
exhibitors being placed with incorrect patterns, etc). Recommended certain
judges to be put on do not hire list.
Exhibitors complained about Trail pattern – too complex. Last year patterns
were too easy. Need to find a happy medium. Reminded trail course
designer that only 6 obstacles are required.
Heidi gave Ashley Enger congratulations for job well done.
Need to work on dog patrol even more – dogs must be on leashes and not in
grandstands.
Need to patrol parking better – if you are not going to use an electrical outlet –
do not park by one!!
Recommendation for when the weather is so bad that halter classes be held in
one half of main arena, use second half of main arena as a holding tank for
next class so people can use the outside covered arena for longeing.
Question asked about using Rodeo Arena for warm-up.
More head sets needed – Heidi will contact Ellen for name and phone number
of person who club bought head sets from.
There was a dilemma with the 1st place awards. Dale reported that a credit is
coming from the shipper.
Heidi gave Kim a list of suggestions regarding classes for future shows.
New Business:
July Show - Dale Smith has the ribbons. They need to be counted to see if
any more needs to be ordered. The pony jumps and flags are with Kim.
Premium will go out soon. Heidi suggested to Kim to publish Championship
Rides/Parties and Royalty Competition in premium so people know when they
will be.
Futurities – Does the club want to continue doing futurities in 2007? ROM
points will not be awarded in futurities starting January 2007. Crystal Baker
recommended the club to keep them. More discussion at next Show
Committee meeting.
