Treasurer Report
Funds status was reviewed and accepted. Preliminary financial results from the April show were
presented and showed a net income of $4,823 due largely income from stall rentals as affected by
the separate sale of shavings. The club is year to date showing a net loss of $8,930. Due to the
reduced level of participation at the April show a motion was made and passed to carry over the
saddle ‘raffle’ to include participants for the July show. It was noted that many people from east
of the mountains, south, from the peninsula and from up north didn’t make this show due to the
weather.
Royalty Report
Efforts to affect the decision to cancel the 2008 PtHA Queen contest have failed. A motion was
made and passed to reimburse the Henning’s for the expense of airfare with the proviso that any
monies realized from the sale of donated tack etc. be used to offset this reimbursement. We
appreciate Laura’s efforts to represent the club and her desire to represent PtHA at the national
level.
Sector Director Report
Three subjects from the Convention were reviewed with the members present. There was a
discussion of the reorganization proposal that was passed during the Convention. The
progression to PtHA President is proposed to be through stages on the Executive Committee
with exposure to various aspects of running the organization at each stage. Past Presidents will
become voting members of the Executive Committee upon completion of their term. PtHA is
particularly interested in growing the organization: registrations, memberships and charters.
They are asking for input and suggestions towards that end. The feeling is that the rule book has
finally stabilized as evidenced by the significantly smaller number of proposed changes this year
and last. You are asked to review the book for any corrections to references, clarifications, and
other editorial issues.
Scholarship Committee
All information on the scholarships will be posted on the web site. Entries are due June 1.
Championship Rides
Please contact Kim if you are planning on doing a ride at one of our shows. She will need your
Championship certificate. The rides will be split up during the 3 days of the show, so please let
Kim also know when you would like to do your presentation.
New added 55 & Over classes
Calling all riders in this age bracket!!! Come and join the fun in these new classes and show your
stuff! One of our members (I won’t mention Ellen’s name) is really trying to get everyone on the
bandwagon for these additional classes. Try to support this new category of classes if you can!!!
Attention - Royalty Tryouts
The Royalty tryouts will be in July, as they have had in the past, but the coronation for the new
court will be at the Sept show.
Show Status
A motion was made and passed to authorize the purchase of an additional 1000 first place awards
based on the number remaining in inventory at the end of the April show. A request for an
increase in salary and coverage for lodging was received from the Ring Steward, Gate Person,
Announcer, and Office Helper. After discussion a motion was made and passed to increase the
salary for these positions by $50 per day.
Attention all youth and adults with youth spirit:
Are you interested in getting to know other youth in PtHAWW? Or maybe you just want to
get away from the competition for a while. Come & join the Youth Spirit Club. Our first task is to
design a sweatshirt/tee-shirt design for the club. We are searching for the artists in our club
