Treasurer Report
Funds status was reviewed with no significant changes.   Poor boy Show financial results were presented with
a $371 loss as compared to a $468 profit for the same show in 2006.

Sector Director
No significant information, next report expected after the upcoming workshop in Tulsa this month.

Royalty Report
Laura Henning announced a significant contribution from Stateline Tack out of the Silverdale store and she
anticipates using these items in a silent auction at the year-end banquet.   As always she is looking for
sponsors to support her activities for 2007 and would appreciate any additional items for the banquet
auction.  She anticipates presenting an estimate for royalty expenditures at the next meeting, with a near
term outlay of $100 to attend a training session scheduled in the Kitsap area put on by past royalty (Club,
Fair, Rodeo etc.)

Show Committee Report
The proposed changes to the class structure out of the Show Committee meeting were presented and
discussed.   The proposed class list is included herein and will be voted at the scheduled November
meeting.   A motion was introduced, seconded and passed to remove the club rule against combining Mini &
Pony and Horse driving classes.   The Show Committee discussed options to reduce show expenses and try
to increase participation and a lively discussion surrounded this topic during the meeting.  The Committee
suggested reducing first place awards to one for each class based on average results per class, or
increasing the number/depth of awards based on average class performance to try to stimulate class
participation.  Also suggested was a raffle at show completion (entries based on the number of classes
entered) of a high value item such as a saddle.   Mike’s Western Supplies of Enumclaw offered to provide a
saddle at cost ranging from @$1000 for Crates down to a low end of @$200.  Discussions at the General
Membership meeting seemed to focus more on increasing the quality of the class awards (aimed at
increasing participation?).   While it was recommended that stall fees be increased to $55 based on
increases in bedding expense, stall costs, and reduced revenue margins, there was a consensus out of the
Show Committee meeting to recommend reducing show production costs by reducing awards expenses.   It
appears that total club operating expenses for 2007 will exceed total revenues based on show financial
performance for the year.

Note:  I need to correct my input to Mary and Heather regarding awards expense. I’m told total awards costs
for shows are @$7000-8000 annually.

A complete suggested class list and further discussion of the cost cutting and participation suggestions is
contained in the attachment from Jodie.

The meeting was adjourned at @9:00

Next scheduled meeting will be at Krickett’s in Spanaway on November 13, 2007. Dinner at 6pm and
meeting starts at 7pm

- THIS AGENDA SUBJECT TO CHANGE –

Letter from Dale G. Smith

It will soon be apparent that my name has been placed in nomination for Director representing PtHA Sector
One.   While Margaret has expressed to me her desire to service for an additional two year term, I wish my
interest and willingness to serve as her ultimate replacement is clear.   The impossibility of anyone bringing
to this position the knowledge, experience, and dedication that she has given to our club and national
association is painfully obvious, and I am confident of her continued support regardless of whenever she
assumes Emeritus status.  I ask that you consider carefully your decision in this upcoming election.  Thank
you.
